Legislation against racial discrimination?

Hi, I'm doing a report on the way the discrimination against blacks has come a long way in America. Can someone help summarise what policies/acts/constitutions (e.g. Civil Rights Act) were enacted in the US after the American Civil War to prevent discrimination against the blacks? Thanks a lot!!
