How to tell if your older guy friend likes you?

well i like really this guy and i think he likes me back. hes 13 or 14 and I'm 12. he usually picks on me but the last few days hes been teasing me a lot more and acting really weird. hes been playing with my hair and (the last couple days we've been picking off er beans and taking them down to his granny's house to shell at her sheller.) hes been taking things and rubbing them against my skin and throwing things at me.(er beans and er bean hulls and things like that.) we hang out a lot but he doesn't usually act like this. i don't know what to think. could someone please help me. also if he does like me how do i ask him out or get him to ask me?
